So my wife and I went out to Seattle back on 8/29 to hang out with my buddy and his wife and kids. It was an awesome time. Did some whale watching, some hiking, and some hanging out. We stayed with them and they drove us around, so that was nice, and saved money.
Here are some pictures!
My wife was perplexed as to why I was taking pictures of cars. I explained to her I had to share my finding with you all on here.
Spotted this while waiting on my buddy to pick us up at the airport.
These cars, I saw our first night out there when my buddy took my wife and I to Capitol Hill for dinner.
Saw these behind a fence by where we parked.
Saw this one parked while walking around Capitol Hill. An old Saab.
Saw this while walking down on Alki beach. I think it is a Land Cruiser?
Now on to the other photos.
Alki Beach:
Walking around Hurricane Ridge:
Whale watching:
Pike Place Market:
One of the many ferry rides we took:
Hiking around Mt. Rainier:
The two people in this picture ended up sliding down that snow on their butts. Looked fun, until they hit the rocks and mud at the bottom.
That line across the middle of the rocks was part of the trail we hiked.
Part of the trail.
The damage I did at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant.
And of course, Mt Rainier from the freeway.

My city is rad.
And yes, that's an FJ60/62 LandCruiser

That was the 2nd time I had been out there, and my wife's first. I kept trying to convince her to move out there. But it's not going to happen.

Its getting very, very expensive to live here thanks to all the tech companies. Owning a home within 20 miles of the city is almost impossible for a sub-$100k salary. Plus the traffic is getting out of hand.
I was born here but I've lived all over and I still love it. Mariners, Sounders and even Seahawks games. The outdoors. Everything, it's the best. Expensive and hard to find "natives" like me, but I wouldn't trade it for anywhere.

I grew up out there and it is great. Did you stop at Salty's on Alki? One of my favorites.

Yeah, it rained like crazy one night, but that was after we were back at the house. Other than that, it was great weather.
